Coventry Shopping

There are oodles to do and whether high street chain stores or quirky independent stores are your preferred destination, Coventry won’t disappoint. Your feet won’t be complaining either because it’s easy to get around Coventry’s pedestrianised city centre and its shopping centres, Lower Precinct, West Orchards and Cathedral Lanes, which all offer excellent value and choice. More individual quirky shops can be found on medieval Spon Street, Hertford Street and in the City Arcade. Specialist retailers particularly those of the fresh (and sometimes exotic!) food variety can be found in the circular-shaped Retail Market. Cafés, pubs, bars and food courts offer ideal lunch and coffee breaks to ensure your shopping experience is truly tasty. There are also 7,500 parking spaces in the heart of the city centre which make it easy to get in to. Feel alive in Coventry – it’s always a enjoyable experience!

West Orchards

West Orchards Shopping Centre is part of the famous Coventry City Centre Precinct, which was developed after the massive destruction that occurred in the Blitz. West Orchards was built on a site that previously housed a car park and a row of single story buildings. The centre opened in April 1991, since then West Orchards has been very successful at attracting customers and retailers to Coventry. The major tenants are Debenhams, Marks & Spencer and WH Smith, with a host of smaller stores making up the retail offer. The Centre is open seven days a week. At Christmas there are extended opening hours. There are facilities for the disabled, baby changing, a Food Court with over 700 seats and 650 car park spaces, which are covered by security.

Lower Precinct

This award-winning shopping centre houses some of Coventry's most well-known fashion retailers and a good selection of independent cafés which suit every budget. Some of the major tenants are H&M, Littlewoods, Faith, Next and Boots. The Lower Precinct has access to Coventry's largest car park, with over 750 spaces.

Spon Street

Containing one of the most important groupings of medieval timber-framed buildings in the country, this historic street is a 'living museum' of the city's architectural heritage. A selection of quality and niche shops such as Frank Harvey Hi Fi as well as Hair and Beauty such as Enigma and Aquarius are located here. With its York stone paving, it is a great spot night or day.
